This is a very good conversion, but its more-then-fair-share of bugs prevents it from getting a higher rating.Ġ of 0 users found this a good review. On the good side, this has tons of tiles, is far superior to the old versions, has a working (You can tell CelL is improving just from that) textured background, good tubes, H/V poles, blocks, MOST of the original tiles, and a large variety they are! Now I have to remake all my levels (just one, fortunately, I think) that used it. It actually lands on the walls.Īlso, it overwrites Ice Wolf’s conversion of Medivo. Yes, it has tons of tiles the previous Medivo conversions didn’t, mostly variants of the same few tiles (though admittedly a decent amount of them were in the original Medivo), but CelL should have looked at the rain more closely. CelL made the transparent parts black, it seems. The thing where yellow and red go by to the left and right is wrong, as you’re supposed to be able to see Jazz through it. Yes, I looked in the original Medivo, and yes, the background bricks are Really pink. Stages - Pez-Rox, Crysilis and Twin Mega Battleships. At first glance, this conversion looks great. Stages - Marbelara, Slugion and Dreempipes. Stages - TurTemple, Nippius and JungRock. Stages - Fanolint, Scraparap and Devan's Megairbase. Stages - Diamondus, Tubelectric and Medivo. Some also included a comic book and free bonus disk. Registered versions has a color Jazz manual. You could buy Episodes 1-3 or Episodes 4-6 and both together. Jazz Jackrabbit has six episodes with only the first episode in shareware version. One of the game's weapons is the LFG-2000, which is obviously a spoof of DOOM's BFG-9000 weapon. The Apogee code is not available in version 1.3. The cheat codes have a few references: apogee (16 bit colour mode) and doom (harder enemies). If you play the game during the Christmas period (September to early January) the game gets a Christmas theme, with snowflakes falling on the main menu and several new backgrounds. Jazz starts with a blaster, but during the course of the game acquires other weapons, such as grenade launcher, flamethrower, TNT, etc. The game is primarily a shooter, meaning that in order to defeat his enemies, it's not enough for Jazz to jump over their heads. However, the rest of the gameplay mechanics are different. The similarity to Sonic the Hedgehog manifests itself in Jazz's uncanny speed, and the fact it increases the more he runs. In this platform game, Jazz, the hero of the rabbit planet Carrotus, must rescue the beloved rabbit princess, Eva Earlong, and defeat the leader of the turtle terrorists, Devan Shell, traveling to different planets to gather clues concerning Eva's whereabouts while liberating them from Shell's tyranny. Jazz Jackrabbit is the PC world's answer to Sonic the Hedgehog.
